Deceit or Authenticity?
Gwen was a pretty, seventeen year old transgender female. She lived that way 24/7 and had been living that way long before meeting the defendants. When the defendants saw her they made assumptions about her anatomy that ultimately turned out to be incorrect. The defense claimed that Gwen deceived them. Was it deceit?

I believed gwen was being authentic because gender identity resides in your mind not in your anatomy.

GENDER resides in you anatomy, not in your mind. Gender identity differnt altogether, and in the mind - but this is not a case of mind over matter. Yes, it was deceit. Was it wrong? A little yes. It was said that they had "sex," althoguh to what extent I do not know. Gwen should have made her Gender and her Gender ideintity clear to her partners before engaging in a sexual act. Concealing something as important as sexual organs during a sexual act is deceitful.
However, Murder is a much greater crime.

also, if they did something sexual with her, how did they not know that she was a genetic male?

I think gender identity resides in your essence; what you're comfortable with, because I'm sure even though Gwen was biologically a boy, and in her mind she could have thought "I am a boy," but the way she felt, what she most felt comfortable with in identity, character, clothes, expression down to the way she wore her hair, she felt comfortable as a woman. Was it deceit? No, It was there interpretation of her, they saw a woman, and even though Gwen REALLY was a woman, society;the way it tell us from when we were little that boys have penises and girls have vaginas, told those boys that she was really a he. Now about Gwen engaging in sexual acts, she was a teenager, they were all teenagers, they are not thinking about whats important when they are in the heat of the moment and things are going good, just like how a boy and girl have sex and don't think "I might get you pregnant." As a teenager, nothing is fully thought out, heck not even as an adult. Also, just because they engaged in sexual acts, those sexual acts could have been acts that would not need to involve a woman's vagina or breasts.
